Can Foreigners Have the COVID Vaccine in Turkey?

You must be a resident of the country to be included in a vaccination program in Turkey. Foreigners with a valid work/residence permit and foreigner identification number can get vaccination appointments from the nearest health institutions through the Central physician appointment system.

How can I find out if I am in the vaccine group for the COVID-19 vaccine?

There are two ways for this. Citizens can easily find out about this under the tab “Inquire about Covid-19 vaccine status” by entering their e-Pulse accounts. The second way is to leave a space between ASI (Vaccine), texting the last 4 digits of the ID Number and TR ID Serial Number to 2023.

I got the flu vaccine; do I need to get the COVID-19 vaccine too?

Influenza (seasonal influenza) vaccines do not protect against COVID-19. Therefore, to be protected against COVID-19, it is necessary to apply a specially produced COVID-19 vaccine. You can get a vaccination appointment through the Central physician appointment system by calling 182.

According to the vaccination strategy program carried out in Turkey, firstly, health workers, those living in places such as the elderly, disabled, and protect homes and workers were vaccinated. Then, those over the age of 65 and those working in some government institutions were vaccinated in turn.

Unless there is a change in the current program, it is aimed to vaccinate Turkish citizens over the age of 18 and foreigners to a large extent by the end of September 2021. An important part of the foreigners residing in Turkey, whose turn to be vaccinated, have already received their first and second dose vaccines.

When it’s your turn, you can book your vaccination appointment with your foreigner’s identity number via both the Central physician appointment system and E-Nabız and get your vaccination free of charge. Let us also remind you that you can choose from the available vaccines.

Will vaccination be mandatory?

In Turkey, vaccination is not compulsory, including childhood vaccinations. However, vaccination is one of the most effective methods to prevent diseases. Many diseases have been wiped out from the face of the earth thanks to vaccination. For this reason, studies to raise awareness about vaccines are carried out by the TR Ministry of Health. Getting vaccinated is one’s responsibility to society.
